Journeyman Body Make-up Artist Edie Giles Bahr joined Local 706 in 1981, attaining Journeyman status in 1983. Often the unsung heroines, the body make-up artists were a select group who rarely secured permanent jobs, most often they travelled from show to show on a daily basis. Edie received her training during by working one day at a time at all the major studios. She worked on hundreds of television productions at Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, Lorimar, CBS, MGM, Aaron Spelling and many others.
A truly gifted, artistic and humble man, Brian McManus displayed the best and kindest traits to everyone he encountered. Many are the tales of his generosity, his kindness, his patience and willingness to teach, to guide and befriend so many. It has been said "he could fix anything" whether it was a make-up that had gone wrong, or his abilities at carpentry. Always wearing his signature cowboy boots and riding a motorcycle, he was lovingly referred to as "The Marlboro Man (who looked like Nick Nolte)."
