Film director Mack Sennett was her great uncle, and she became interested in being a make-up artist thanks to 706 make-up artist Jack Wilson, who was the father of her best friend growing up. Sherilyn Stetz started in print and commercials, worked at the networks CBS, NBC, KCOP and ABC, then joined Local 706 in 1995 and became a Journeyman in the year 2000. She loved her craft and had extensive abilities in all phases of the art of make-up. She especially loved working with redheads Marcia Cross and Marg Helgenberger, and the special nuances to beautify them Sheri worked in both film and television – five seasons on Desperate Housewives, Conan and The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, Baywatch, Baywatch Nights and the Baywatch Hawaiian Wedding, Celebrity Food Fight and numerous other series. Her talents as a beauty make-up artist paved the way for her to be chosen as one of M.A.C.'s Master Makeup Artists of the Year. Sheri was not only a dedicated artist, but one of the most delightful personalities whose impish sense of humor would sideline you when you least expected it. With the long hours on productions, one little glance was all she needed to get that twinkle in her eye and find trouble to make life more fun.
Sheri Stetz served as Sergeant-at-Arms for Local 706, and was involved with a charity called Project Butterfly L.A. Her generous heart led her to help other women whose lives were transitioning and prepared them for job interviews and join the workforce. Of course, she enlisted other Local 706 members for the project. Sheri loved her work and loved her family and friends. When Sheri became ill with a very rare form of brain cancer, her friend Paula set up a GoFundMe page for Sheri that helped to convey an outpouring of prayers and intentions along with money to help defray costs for her treatments not covered by insurance.
Sherilyn Stetz is survived by her husband Dimitris Bogiantzis and her daughter Tiana Rensen. No services have yet been announced, but we will notify the membership as soon as we have information.
