Theme Park Hair Stylist
(1941- 2022)

Mary Boots was beloved by our Theme Park Members at the Disneyland Resort; Mary’s "pot lucks" and holiday decorations were legendary, and many of our Members were fed & nourished - and merrier – thanks to Mary.  A Cosmetologist since high school, Mary started working at Disneyland in the late 90’s and was one of our "original 29" Theme Park Hair Stylists that came into membership at Local 706 in July 2005.  Mary - alongside our other dear Member Bonnie Deal (who we lost just last month) - ran Hair & Make-up for the Resort in the evenings; the "dynamic duo" did an amazing job keeping both parks wigged & supported after 2pm for two decades-plus. Mary is survived by her son Michael Walker and nieces Linda Martinez-Mata, Delia Landa & Janice Garcia and nephew Robert Martinez.  Her beautiful funeral mass was held at St. John Fisher Catholic Church on May 18, and Mary’s friends, family – and a mariachi band - escorted our Sister to her final resting place.  The Monsignor spoke glowingly of our Mary, as she had been cutting his hair for over 20 years.
