Marvin G. Westmore
Journeyman Make-Up Artist
December 24, 1934 – November 28, 2020
Marvin Westmore was more than a makeup artist. He was a teacher, a mentor and an innovator who never lost his love and passion for the artistry of makeup. Marvin worked in film and TV, and respected both mediums, always giving 100% of himself to every project. His legacy also lives on in his children. Kandace and Kevin who have followed in their father’s footsteps and are accomplished makeup artists and, like their father, proud members of Local 706.
Marvin passed away on Saturday, November 28th with his wife Joyce and sons, Eric and Matthew by his side. He is survived by Joyce his wife, his daughter Kandace, sons, Kevin, Kris, Eric and Matthew. He is also survived by his brother Michael, wife Marion, their son Michael, Jr., and daughters, Michelle and McKenzie along with his niece, makeup artist Pamela Westmore.
Marvin will be missed by so many. As per Marvin’s wishes, there will be no service. He will be buried in a shroud in Apple Valley. Please see the tribute to him in the upcoming issue of The Artisan.

The son of Monte Westmore, he ran Westmore Academy and was the Founder & CEO of the George Westmore Research Library & Museum in Burbank, California. On October 3, 2008 in Hollywood, California, Marvin and family were honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
