Mario Duran (July, 1969 - February, 2023) became a member of Local 706 in May of 1990. He entered Local 706 as  a Makeup Artist on the Industry Experience Roster, and was  a Journeyman Make Up Artist but his true love was the Theatre. In 2001 he went back to working exclusively as a Theatrical Make Up Artist. He contributed his extensive makeup skills while working at the LA Opera, LA Philharmonic, Ahmanson Theatre,  Mark Taper Forum, Hollywood Bowl, Pantages & Dolby Theatre.  He also worked IRIS, Cirque Du Soleil while that show sat down here in Los Angeles at the Kodak Theatre.  Mario also worked for MAC Cosmetics. He was extremely talented with both Make-up and Hair/Wigs, with many praises and accolades by his peers.

Mario was sassy, charismatic and so much fun to work with. He will be hugely missed by all of us. He is survived by his sister Martha (Cabrera) and his father Arthur Duran and numerous nephews and nieces.   

Services will be held March 1, 2023  at the Funeraria del Angel Pico Rivera (9107 Washington Blvd, Pico Rivera, CA 90660)
