Dear Local 706 Member,
We are notifying all eligible members of Local 706 of an opening for Assistant to the Business Representativestarting effective January 1, 2019. There are two (2) openings for two separate Assistant to the Business Representativepositions available.
One position will be as Assistant to the Business Representative working with members covered under the Basic Agreement and Commercials - the film, television, videotape, and commercial contracts. This position is paid at an amount equal to the Basic Agreement Weekly Make-up Artist rate with maximum benefit contributions of 56 hours per week. A candidate must have been a member for a minimum of two (2) years, and be in good standing. The candidate must have strong people skills, have a solid understanding of the Local 706 contracts, have clear interpersonal communication skills, and be self-motivated. The candidate must be able to take direction, be able to work under pressure with deadlines, have writing and math skills, be a quick learner, understand business protocol, be computer literate - with focus on Word documents, letter writing and composing email, as well as have a car and be able to drive. Also be aware that you will be required to do a lot of walking, carry boxes and equipment, and be prepared to work weekends.
The second position is also Assistant to the Business Representativeworking in the areas of our Theatrical, Regional Theater, Pink Contract / Touring Theater, Theme Park / Disneyland, and Network Television contracts. This position will cover all of these venues for Local 706 members. This position is paid at an amount equal to the Basic Agreement Weekly Hair Stylist rate with max benefits contributions of 56 hours per week. This candidate must have been a member for a minimum of two (2) years, and be in good standing. The candidate must have strong people skills, have a strong understanding of the Local 706 contracts they are to represent, have clear interpersonal communication skills, and be self-motivated. The candidate must be able to take direction, be able to work under pressure with deadlines, have writing and math skills, be a quick learner, understand business protocol, be computer literate - with focus on Word documents, letter writing and composing email, as well as have a car and be able to drive.
