Sister Delree Todd, Journeyman Hairstylist
Sister Todd joined the Makeup Artists and Hairstylists Guild in September of 1966 when she was 24 years old. She was born January 02, 1942 in Cincinnati Ohio, and was involved in show business from a young age. As a young girl, she worked as a professional dancer for 17 years and was also a member of the American Guild of Variety Artists prior to joining Local 706. She danced at the Cincinnati Summer Opera and the Cincinnati Symphony. Sister Todd was also a professional ice skater and skated with the Ice Capades. She also made an appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show and on Lil Abner. She learned makeup from The Max Factor School in New York, and earned her cosmetology license in 1962 from the Comer and Doran Beauty School.
In 1966, at the age of 24, Sister Todd embraced a new chapter of her journey by joining the Makeup Artists and Hairstylists Guild, where her talent and dedication flourished. Her career blossomed as she worked on celebrated productions like Charlie's Angels, Laverne and Shirley and Solid Gold and left her mark as Cybil Shepard’s hairdresser in Moonlighting. Sister Todd's expertise and artistry shone brightly, enriching every project she touched. She earned her Gold Card in 1997 and retired from Local 706 and moved to Baltimore in 2002.
She is survived by her son, Eric Todd of Hesperia, California, no services have been announced.
